Beulah Rucker Youth Mentoring Gainesville Black History Project
PRESERVE OUR HISTORY: Please help share and preserve the history of our Gainesville-Hall African American community by sharing your memories of growing up and living here. No one can tell your story better than you, and we would love to share your good, challenging and funny experiences during the good old days. The information will be compiled in book format and sold to raise funds for The Beulah Rucker Youth Mentoring Program. This mentoring program is a collaboration of several mentor programs in our community. Working together, we are able to increase the educational and cultural experiences that we provide to the youth in our community. Please take about 30 minutes of your time to help support our children.
Your story: EVERYONE IS IMPORTANT, AND WE NEED YOU TO HELP US TELL OUR STORY!
Loved ones no longer with us: In addition to telling your story, we need your help in remembering and honoring our family and community members who are no longer with us. You may want to use obituaries and memories of stories that they shared to complete their page.
Senior Citizens: Our senior citizens are very important to our community. Please assist them in submitting their stories. If you can’t assist them, please contact us. 470-252-5002
Didn’t grow up in Gainesville: You are important to our community and our history, and we’d love to hear about your life in Gainesville.
Not living in Gainesville now: Please spread the word through social media. Thanks to the internet, we can receive Gainesville stories from around the world. We need EVERYONE’S story and help in making this project a success.
Let’s make this a memorable book that we can enjoy now and for years to come!
