OUR NEED FOR A PARKING AT THE BEULAH RUCKER MUSEUM IN GAINESVILLE GEORGIA:
There are several reasons we need to install a parking lot on the identified strip of land. Future activities and visitations require that we have much more space that is available at the present. Now, we have room for about 30 spaces for parking. We need a minimum of 50 spaces and a maximum of 75 spaces to ensure adequate parking for attendees to functions, which are growing at the center. With a rise in requests from the school system(s), churches, and different organizations for both local regional visitations, we also need adequate space for a maximum of 5 buses at any given time. We must be able to accommodate many more visitors and guests. The present area we are using for parking is inadequate, and we plan to reserve the area for >green space,= to create a small botanical garden. That is Phase Two of our project.An educator of her people, a visionary, and teacher, Mrs. Beulah Rucker Oliver believed in Education. Thousands today in Gainesville/Hall County Georgia still heed to her mantra. That is the reason for the museum in her honor and the why her vision and philophosy are still prevelant today. We’re growing, and we need a larger parking lot.
The shown strip of property for the parking lot is now covered by wild vegetation, mostly kudzu and brush. We plan to utilize about 1/2 of the area for the parking lot, with plans for expansion in the future. The measurements are:
|Length – 250′ Top||Length – 250′ bottom||Width – 75′ East End||Width – 100′ /West End Drive Way|
